I don't know about you, but I love Google Reader. I don't understand why they are canning it, but that's that. Time to find a new reader, I guess. I've been testing the water with Feedly and Bloglovin' over the past few days, and I think I prefer the latter. That ridiculous dropping of the "g" is going to drive my editor sensibilities insane, however.
Anyhoo, long story short, please click the link below to follow me. I'd be ever so grateful!
Follow my blog with Bloglovin
My husband has found pulse (an app on his iPhone) looks promising.
ReplyDeleteI've just joined them too and I know what you mean about the missing "g". Just got to work out how to put the link on my blog now.
ReplyDeleteI think I agree with you about Bloglovin. I have used Feedly for the past couple of days and I just find it annoying. Bloglovin at least has that little bar that works like Google Reader's Next button.
ReplyDeleteI added Bloglovin' last year for my non-Blogger using readers after the got rid of Google Friend Connect for them, but I always just read in my Blogger dashboard, and I can't find out what's happening with that. I think I'll stick my head in the sand until the day it isn't there any more ;o)
ReplyDeleteYou know you can just import your list from Reader to Bloglovin and it's super easy?! Coz even I managed it!!
ReplyDeleteHi! I just changed yesterday all my blog (including your blog) list from google to bloglovin (easily by few clicks) and I think I'll be happy using the bloglovin. Hapy quilting weekend! x Teje
ReplyDeleteIm not sure I really understand. I read blogs via my dashboard is going to stay the same?
ReplyDeleteI think I will keep my head in the sand until at least past Easter at which point there will be even more feedback on this nonsense. I have heard a few people say Feedly is annoying to use though.
ReplyDeleteI actually gave a little gasp of dismay when the message popped up that it was going. I love my Reader! Will check out Bloglovin, even though the name makes my skin crawl.
ReplyDeleteFeedly is the best. I gave it a spin and never looked back. It's seamless, when you transfer from google reader, they do all the work!
ReplyDeleteI'm confused too... because I also read through my dashboard.
ReplyDeleteGoogle Reader allows you to also follow non-Blogger blogs all in one spot. Your dashboard will likely still show you your Blogger blogs but for those of us that follow blogs that aren't hosted via Blogger this sucks a whole lot.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Reader and I have no idea why they would do this to us.
I bet the competition is going to be updating like mad to compete for those of us orphaned by Google...so I'm waiting a bit before changing to see what all the bells and whistles will be.
ReplyDeleteI refuse to entertain the 'lovin' experience on 'g' principal - I just use the Dashboard, hope that doesn't change x
ReplyDeleteI love reader too and have gone to Bloglovin and also agree that missing 'g' is just ridiculous!!
ReplyDeleteI do exactly the same as Katy - follow in my dashboard and just click over. Will have my head in the sand next to her :) Well that's not quite true - I just clicked on the link to follow you and it now shows me as following Tilly and the Buttons which is a blog I follow but not yours :-/
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine why Google thinks this is a good idea! I'm glad to see Stitched Together says bloglovin has a button like Next. I think I'll wait a bit to see what else happens before I move things around.
ReplyDeleteI will wait to see the results of your scientific endeavours and then just go with whatever you think is best!
ReplyDeleteGah! Decisions!!! I've been going back and forth between the two as well. :/ I think I may have had a dream about this and somehow Jeff Corwin was involved. Yeah...its a big bag of crazy in my head.
