I've been brewing up some ideas for the Brit Quilt Swap. At first I thought cathedral windows, but then I decided I didn't like the finish (not that quilty and no binding) so have settled on an orange peel pattern instead. The effect is similar, but has the advantage of using more feature fabrics. That means extra rainbowy goodness. Excellent.

| it's just slapped on the design wall right now, which explains the wonkiness |
There's a little bit of needle turn applique involved, but I don't mind too much. I say that now, but ask me again when it's finished.
I'm looking forward to getting my stitch on this weekend.
Beautiful! I can never get enough of FMF.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.
ReplyDeletethanks Danielle :-)
DeleteThat's lovely, Charlotte! The coloured fabric against the neutral, texty stuff looks so pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove it - such great fabric choices Charlotte!

ReplyDeleteLooking good so far!
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteNeedleturn applique! You're brave. Good luck with that....
ReplyDeleteThat better be mine!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been considering a project just like this where the leaves are done with sew & turn applique instead of needle turn. (Sew two pieces right sides together, cut slit in backing fabric and turn right side out). You're making me want to again! Your fabric choices are great.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Your background fabric is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLoooove your fabric choices Charlotte, another brilliant project. Sigh. Can you make something just a little bit ugly? You're making me feel inadequate...
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty, already! Have fun doing the needle turn.
